Sikar is known across India as a coaching town, but NDA preparation is different from ordinary exam coaching. The NDA selects teenagers for a life as an officer, so the selection board looks at personality, teamwork and courage as closely as it looks at marks. Alpha NDA Academy was set up for this two-sided test. Its training starts with discipline, time management, communication and leadership, and prepares students for both the written and the SSB stage.
The academy describes its mission as preparing young people to clear NDA and CDS and to develop Officer Like Qualities (OLQs) that stay useful in life and in service. Here is what that looks like in practice:
• Long mentoring hours: faculty and mentors are available from 7 AM to 11 PM, and doubts can be cleared until 11 PM.
• Experienced mentors: the website lists ex-Army officers and experienced teachers, and an SSB panel led by retired officers.
• Weekly full-length tests: a UPSC-style NDA mock on the full 900 marks, with reports sent to parents.
• All-India student base: students have joined from Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chandigarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
• Open fee structure: course fees for every class are published on the academy's fee page.

Physical and medical standards in brief
Candidates who are recommended by the SSB undergo a medical examination. The board checks height, weight, eyesight, hearing, bones, teeth and general health. Standards differ by wing: the Air Force sets stricter requirements for eyesight and height than the Army and Navy, and the minimum height is generally around 157 cm for the Army and Navy and 162.5 cm for the Air Force. Because these limits are revised from time to time, students should read the latest UPSC notification and the academy's physical and medical requirements guide. A basic eye check and a doctor's advice in Class 9 or 10 helps families identify any concern early.

Board's overall assessment |
Recommended candidates then go for a medical examination at a military hospital, which takes several days. Final merit combines written and SSB marks.
There are 15 Officer Like Qualities that assessors look for, including effective intelligence, reasoning ability, organising ability, power of expression, social adjustment, cooperation, sense of responsibility, initiative, self-confidence, speed of decision, ability to influence a group, liveliness, determination, courage and stamina. These cannot be memorised in two weeks. They grow through habits, which is why Alpha NDA Academy begins SSB-oriented training from the first day instead of waiting for the written result.
9 Strengths of Alpha NDA Academy
1: Comprehensive NDA written exam preparation
The written exam decides who even gets called to the SSB, so Alpha treats it as the base of the whole structure. Preparation covers all three areas:
• Mathematics (300 marks): algebra, matrices and determinants, trigonometry, analytical geometry, differential and integral calculus, vector algebra, statistics and probability.
• English (200 marks): grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, sentence improvement, error detection and spoken English.
• General Knowledge (400 marks): physics, chemistry, general science, history, geography and current affairs.
Classes are supported by study material, a smart-board classroom, and doubt-clearing till 11 PM. Because wrong answers lose marks, the academy runs a full-length 900-mark mock test every week in NDA timing, and sends a performance report to parents showing marks and weak areas. Weekly tests train a skill that classroom teaching alone cannot: choosing which questions to attempt.
2: Holistic SSB interview training
Alpha's SSB programme covers all three parts of Stage II, and it begins on Day 1 of the course.
• Psychological assessments: practice of TAT, WAT and SRT, with feedback on how to think naturally rather than write rehearsed answers.
• GTO tasks: the academy says it has a dedicated GTO ground inside the campus, where students practise group tasks, obstacles and command tasks.
• Personal interview coaching: mock interviews, public speaking, group discussions and communication practice led by experienced mentors, including retired officers.
The goal is genuine development. A candidate who has built confidence over months performs better than one who has memorised answers in a crash course.
3: Structured physical fitness and discipline
Defence training is physical. At Alpha NDA Academy the day begins at 5:00 AM and includes morning physical training from 5:00 to 6:00 AM with running, exercise and stamina work. Games and sports follow from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, and Saturday evenings are for outdoor recreation. Alongside fitness comes military-style discipline: uniform, daily reporting, grooming, punctuality and room management.
• Running and stamina building that grow step by step with the student's age and ability.
• Team sports that build cooperation, which GTO assessors look for.
• Healthy sleep and meal routines, so that fitness does not depend on motivation alone.
Parents should note that fitness is built gradually. Extreme training at a young age is not the aim. Consistency across many months is what prepares a student for the medical and physical standards.
4: A proven track record
Selection ultimately depends on each student's effort, medical fitness and the vacancies announced, and no academy can guarantee a result. What an institute can show is a system that helps more students succeed. Evidence on the academy's website includes:
• Ten students featured as NDA II 2026 written-exam qualifiers, shown in the academy's success stories.
• Published Google reviews and 17 student videos from learners in different states.
• Testimonials from students in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Haryana, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. They repeat the same themes: regular tests, personal guidance, SSB confidence, comfortable AC rooms, good food and a disciplined routine.
Parents are encouraged to ask for recent results, talk to current students and visit the campus before deciding. A confident academy welcomes that.
5: In-house residential facility with AC accommodation
Hostel life is part of the training. Alpha NDA Academy offers an in-house residential campus with air-conditioned rooms and attached washrooms, a mess with nutritious meals, and supervised self-study in two blocks (3:00 to 6:00 PM and 8:00 to 10:30 PM). Hostel students receive a track suit and an evening T-shirt as part of the institute kit.
The benefit is practical: no travel time in the Rajasthan heat or winter, fewer distractions, and a fixed routine for sleep, meals, study and fitness. Sunday is kept free for rest, room organisation and calls or visits from family. For parents who live far from Sikar, this structure makes a big difference.
6: Dedicated infrastructure for female students
Girls are eligible for the NDA and have been joining since 2022, so safety and a supportive environment matter to families. The GIRLS SPECIAL Batch is for girls in Class 11, Class 12 and 12th pass, in 6-month or 1-year options.

7: Premier NDA Foundation integrated with Class 11 and 12
The ARJUNA Batch is a two-year NDA Foundation programme designed for students studying in Classes 11 and 12. Students cannot appear for the NDA exam immediately after Class 10; they can apply while studying in Class 12, subject to UPSC eligibility criteria. The programme combines school education with NDA preparation, helping students build a strong foundation in Mathematics, English, General Knowledge (GK), and other General Ability Test (GAT) subjects based on the Class 11 and 12 syllabus.
Along with academic preparation, students receive structured SSB training throughout the two-year programme to develop communication skills, confidence, leadership qualities, and Officer Like Qualities (OLQs). This integrated approach helps students prepare for the NDA written examination and SSB interview while completing their school education.

8: NDA Pre-Foundation for Class 9 and 10
Class 9 and 10 are where the NDA Mathematics and Science base is built. The Pre-Foundation programme gives students structured training in Maths, English, GAT basics, regular testing, fitness and disciplined study, alongside school. The published fee is Rs 2,20,000 for one academic year, which includes CBSE school, AC hostel with attached washrooms, mess and tuition.
For parents, the advantage is time. A student who starts at Class 9 has about three years to learn exam techniques, improve spoken English and build physical habits before the NDA attempt, and does not need to rush at the last minute.
9: RIMC coaching for Class 6 to Class 10
The Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) in Dehradun is a residential school under the Ministry of Defence, and its entrance exam is a popular first step for young defence aspirants. Alpha NDA Academy provides RIMC-oriented coaching for students in Classes 6 to 10 through its early programmes. The Class 6-8 Pre-Foundation fee is Rs 2,00,000 per year (CBSE school, AC hostel, mess and tuition).

Conclusion
Joining the Armed Forces through the NDA takes years of steady work: strong mathematics, clear English, general awareness, physical fitness, confidence and character. Alpha NDA Academy, Sikar is built to support all of this under one roof, with weekly tests, SSB training from Day 1, AC hostels, a dedicated girls' batch and programmes from Class 6 to 12th pass. The best next step is to visit the campus, talk to mentors and students, and choose the programme that matches your child's class.
Alpha NDA Coaching offers comprehensive facilities within a single, secure campus, including hostel accommodation, a mess, modern classrooms, sports grounds, and dedicated GTO training grounds. With 6–7 SSB officers associated with the institute for guidance and training, students benefit from a well-structured preparation environment without the need to travel outside the campus for essential facilities.
